Exactly. I wasn't specific because I thought it was obvious. I need to search for old emails all the time. I'd hardly want to use shortwave sometimes, but flip to Gmail multiple times a day. I thought that limitation was by design

I tried it out, but instantly realized the 'free' version is go restrictive it's useless. I get many startups want to make sure the free version isn't too good, but here the free version is unusable. Also, $9/mo for

The world is the process of moving from x86 to Arm. This is a huge opportunity for lots of tech companies. So what does IBM do? Innovate on POWER and s390x. Why? Because they need to avoid competition, because they'll lose.

Without reading the article, they're obviously doing this to force Edge on people. Also, without reading the article, I wish they'd done this years ago. Long before Edge :).

This kind of stuff is annoying. Netlify had no need to acquire this. They just want to increase their revenue. As a Hugo user on Netlify, I hope this doesn't affect me negatively.

I don't know about claiming Debian is free from corporate interest. As a packager, sure. And for its own stuff like APT, yes. But that's just a fraction of the overall Debian codebase. Debian ultimately follows the OSS community f

Sure, as a smaller company, this makes sense. And if they stay small, and want to minimize cost, fine. If they target tech-people, again, fine. But in my view, mass adoption really requires better UX/perf.
