that's a strange thing to say. Sure it's great for in-progress projects to get visibility, but as a ready/user, it will waste my time if I just want something that's ready/usable right now, and end up trying a bunch

I understand your frustration, but anyone who's run (or been on) a dev team knows you have a million things you could/should be doing, and many, many priorities. Often supporting new launches/features is the priority. Sure, i

There is also a huge range of hardware/software. Different kernels, drivers, AMD vs Nvidia, Wayland vs XOrg. A lot more Linux users are moving to AMD GPU, so when I see platinum, I assume at least great support on AMD.

Bingo. Ads making so much money has destroyed Google, because they can make mistake after mistake and still be profitable. Most companies think this is good, but it's actually a curse. When decisions don't have consequences, peopl

A bit part of this is Apple's best intel laptop (the 16") is still on a 9th gen intel. So comparing a 2020 m1 on 5nm vs a 14nm 2018 chip isn't fair. It's real if you're an apple user, and upgrade from a 16" MBP

Agreed. But Rocky is supposed to launch before CentOS 8 is EOL. There should be time to wait and migrate.

I think you're digging in the wrong place, and focusing on the label. This shouldn't be kicking fedora down. It has a place, as does stream. The point is that with CentOS you expect a super stable release. Red Hat replaced that wi

I understand that Dropbox feels they need to add features to compete, especially as they compete with Google and OneDrive, which both bundle a bunch of extra free stuff. But that should never be at the cost of your core product. Dropbox pur

Both evernote and dropbox started making the free service worse by limiting how many devices you could connect. Dropbox also dropped support for xfs filesystems on Linux (which they later brought back, but not after infuriating Linux users)

What's the root of the problem here? In other words, why has an important usability bug been ignored for years? Is the problem that Gnome is mostly funded by Redhat, and Redhat mostly focuses on enterprise usecases, as that's how
