Must be a troll or a comment on the wrong thread. I know neither language, have no clue about programming and have no trouble understanding the logic in the code snippets.

Never expect things you upload to the internet to be private. There are so many vectors where this can go wrong. The host might list directory indexes, s3 buckets can be open, sites can be hacked, etc etc.

As a user I never trust myself to know the "right" search terms nor the search box to show the "right" results. If I browse, I know that I see all the items and I can filter with exact, pre-defined (trusted) attributes.

I asked the tiny community of my hobbyist website to donate for hosting costs and got almost 150% of what was needed and asked for. The world wide web can run on altruism.

I can recommend Seafile as self-hosted FOSS file/dir sync tool. Been using it for a year now and I am really happy[1]. [1] Except for the ridiculous decision of not syncing any files with names that are not Windows-compatible anywhere.

As I said on another comment to you, you better include "public" somehow in your rhetoric. The probability of getting into trouble when downloading popular episodes via private bittorrent trackers or on I2P is ~0, not that I would

No. If you couple a good thing with a bad thing, you make it hard. I won't share this with my friends because I would not want to advertise Dotcom's personal agenda as byproduct. This is similar to politicians of the wrong parties
