I've worked in Marketing for a few years, and I can 100% confirm: the best trick to remembering someone's name is to say it. Just figure out 2-3 ways to repeat the person's name in conversation and the name will stick to the face.

I think that it's for two reasons. 1. HackerNews originally started as a way to test Arc. It is still very much an 'experiment'. Since features are changed on the fly as part of the experiment (think orange names), it doesn't make that much

Lots of these exist and have tried to exist in the past, but end up failing due to the non-automatic nature of tagging. (Unlike Last.FM and music, to play off the title's example) It's cool that trakt.tv is at least trying to integrate with

Our startup, www.getaround.com , is trying to tackle the challenge of the spread (and inefficiency) of the automobile. The concept is called peer-to-peer car sharing, and is kind of a mix of Zipcar and eBay. We let car owners put their cars

I hope they add the ability to re-order labels soon. Either that, or Sparrow adds some ability to re-order labels and slightly better label integration.

This 'open letter' has a ring of dishonesty to it. > Clearly, Square is a threat to VeriFone, so it’s intentions aren’t so pure when exposing this potential issue. That much is obvious. The letter is geared towards 'protecting the consu

Nope, you can only integrate it as XFBML and iFrame. Since most platforms like Twitter/Youtube don't allow this sort of injection, especially in Tweets/comments, you're just out of luck. Facebook also could potentially ban your page/suspend

CAPTCHAs are indisputably a nuisance. They have to be used, however, where necessary—some sites are simply too spam-prone to avoid needing to use CAPTCHAs (usually in conjunction with one or all of the other suggested methods on the blog.)

Well, I guess it comes down to personality and level of what you're willing to do yourself to save some money/save yourself some time. In my case, some simple scripting provided all the functionality this app provides. It probably cost an e

It's an interesting idea, and nice to see, but honestly I'm not sure if the convenience of it all working 'out of the box' justifies the cost. My company, for example, set up almost all the functionality they offer in about an hour of Pytho

It depends on how much you're looking to spend, and where you are located. Is it important for your graphic designer to be in-house? Good graphic designers I know charge up to $250/hour... Some of the more average ones will do $50-100/hour
