I am not the GP of course, but I kinda enjoyed being tiger-parented here, it's at least entertaining and might even be good for my career.

Super pro comment, should be much higher in the thread. You should write about this in more detail somewhere! And link it here.

Besides the "unrelated legislation" thing, this is just such blatant corporate welfare for the American BigCo's that will buy Tiktok. Microsoft and Google are absolutely salivating at the thought of buying their way into a ma

In "The Right Stuff" Tom Wolfe claimed that pilots talk like this because they are (unconsciously, due to cultural reasons) imitating a famous/high-status fighter pilot from many years ago called Chuck Yeager, who had a West-

Oh man the "sell Tiktok" thing is just pure corporate welfare for whatever US-based BigCo buys Tiktok. Spoiler alert, it will be one of the BigCo's that enthusiastically lobbied for this bill. Regulatory capture at its finest

Well in defense of the GP, the "planes can observably fly upside down" point (and its close cousin the "flat wing cross sections can fly too" point) is a good one, this pokes holes in the usual two-dimensional "the

I am in a semi-similar situation and I use an MVNO called Ting. I don't claim it will work in every country, but it works in lots of countries (all that I've tried) to receive 2FA SMS, and costs usually less than 10 bucks a mont

Possibly there are other wolf subspecies that are more aggressive; there are many (anecdotal) stories of non-rabid wolf attacks e.g. in Canada and Alaska, and Wikipedia [0] seems to bear this out. [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/

Most of the fasteners on the airframe are probably not bolts, e.g. rivets on aluminum airframes. But yes it's surely still a lot of bolts.

My daily driver phone is an iPhone 7+, which Wikipedia tells me is from 2016. It works great and people often compliment the pictures from its camera. That's not "8+ years old" but it's in the ballpark :)

One underappreciated aspect of this is ban is that anyone who wants Tiktok will just go download it in Wyoming or Idaho etc, as it seems to be merely a ban on downloading the app, and not a ban on Tiktok traffic itself. So the ban will have
