I've used both products in production. Both are good++. The blog wars seem extremely ridiculous to me. I don't recall ever choosing one over another based on how fast it runs on some imaginary arbitrary dataset.

Which everybody should (must?) read. Seriously, should be a mandatory read in school curriculum, instead of "catcher in the rye" or some Scottish ballade [+]. [+] not that there's something wrong with any of them

It's much more surprising that people equate "run a small company" with "freedom", when in every measurable way you're much freeer being a conformant employee in a good place.

git has quite an inconsistent cli, this is well covered in "master git". And yes, I said it without proposing a better one.

While you're on wait there, you can read the excellent hg init https://hginit.github.io/ for inspiration.

I think DRY is the fundamental axiom of reasonable coding. Everything else naturally derives if you religiously follow it. My only issue is it does not play so well with microservices.

I've seen a game by Alireza where he delivers mate by promoting to a knight. Arguably, the position was winning anyhow and standard promotion would also win, but the knight made it immediate checkmate. (also this https://www

Were you using the term "claims control over entry of goods into the territory" instead of "claims their land", there would be much less to argue about. "claims their land" sounds like Israel would like to anne

Thinking? I didn't do any. I divided the #pop by #area in units I can relate to (Km^2), then looked at the table and figured out it would be #5.

Gaza would have ranked 5th on population density, or 3rd if you remove places with tiny population (i.e take a "pop > 1MM" threshold). It's basically after Singapore and Hong-Kong.

FB does not control what you say. Proof: I can say "Zionism" and "COVID". It just moderates content posted on FB.

ok but taming complexity is what we do for a living. The Q is where to put the dirt. And under the carpet is better than on my bed. I don't know this tool but for example if I switch my "webapp" to use redis, I push some comp

Cultural fit sucks, but working with developers who cannot communicate clearly and effectively also sucks. The "how to interview" discussion must always focus on what sucks less as the whole framework of thinking sucks here.

As a programmer I’m mostly measured on how fast and not buggy (in that order) I can ship. No one is profiling my code or asking O(wtf) it takes. So from crap import * is pragmatic and practical. Short term at least.

My experience (N=3) is startups "fail" mostly because the answers to "can this work" and "will people buy it" tend to be "yes", "maybe" and "no".
