<not a climate scientist /> EW was never field-tested in any significant capacity. We know nothing about the cost-effectiveness of it, because we hardly understand if it'll work at all. https://news.ycombinator.

I factually know that’s not the case as multiple times I’ve sent cvs to positions I’m a perfect fit for and never heard a thing. I’m quite confident reading resumes is old school habit of apatosaurusish generation.

There's abundant data. some 2 years worth of daily power generation from road installed PV panels. A ~$5mm experiment, that also resulted in a 1km road. Your local physics department spends x10 that budget yearly, and you can't mo

Floating solar is doing well, with global capacity over 1GW (global installed PV capacity surpassed 500GW). It's technically easier to put things on land if possible.

It seems irresponsible to use the term fraud . You need strong evidence to accuse someone in a criminal offence. Fraud is Theranos. We seems more of a BetterPlace - delusional, charismatic founder + too much money - sound business model.

Your arguments may be appealing, but looking back at your startups - did the receptionist, tech support or janitor receive options? Were they even employees?

I fail to see her point. There’s always lack of transparency in equity allocation. If there exist a startup with a transparent cap table, that’s surely exceptional.

Or follow Mumbai and ban eating cows (or make it really expensive). Seriously, pivoting to chicken at scale is more straightforward and has more predictable outcomes.

Aren’t these numbers misleading, by implicitly treating gas as clean energy? The right metric should be %renewables of installed capacity USA < 15% India almost 17% China almost 25%

This is not how replacement rate is calculated. The common formula/approximation is inverse of product of probability of reaching mean fertility age and female ratio. The female ratio in India is 0.482. The other factor I have no idea.

The fact that India’s population is growing does not imply TFR is above replacement. Now you can go back up to my original post, and see what it was about (I was replying to someone claiming that halving world population won’t help as we ar

India's TFR is reported 2.2-2.3 for 2018. That is, for a developing country with high child mortality, the replacement rate.

Even more skeptical remark: Effects of nutrition on livestock methane production have been studied for over 20 years now. We have methane reduction results from both in-vivo and in-vitro research. What varies is the numbers (99%, 50%, 15%?)
