Why? This is a site for hackers--here's some great code, it builds somewhat for OS X, and the kind of people that read this site are exactly the kind of people who are knowledgeable enough to work with the code and port it over. Whatever

I've been playing this game over the summer on long train/plane journeys--it's brilliant. I incidentally stumbled across it on Wikipedia, too.

I live in a house in a college town. There's 5 of us, all pretty heavy Internet users: I think I personally use more than my now 50GB per month cap. I'm not too happy about this--it's not like it's competitively priced.

No idea, but I don't find that useful. I use :set showmatch, and a plugin called UnMtchBracket.vim (IIRC) that highlights any currently unmatched brackets. This is pretty personal, so I guess it's something you may want to at least give a

Conversation threads would be a definite benefit in Twitter, although I can't see how they'd implement it now without everything going crazy. I stopped using Twitter because the signal-to-noise ratio became too much for me to handle. At on

I wouldn't say so. It's too difficult to have a real-time conversation. I'd go crazy trying to work on a project with somebody via Twitter, especially if I had to DM everything that I wanted private.

That's actually $25 a month. Not a good deal--it's a $500 app for crying out loud! Ditch the hosting and go with slicehost--what you have probably isn't better than that. You can also pay per month IIRC.

Before you go overwriting pretty useful default functionality, check Vim's manual for what those do to see if it isn't more useful (I prefer the defaults).

He states he uses Vimperator and listed Vim before Emacs at the end of the article--he uses Vim, not emacs.

Seems like an idea worth pursuing. I write silly mini-games when I'm bored--this would be perfect for that. Publicity stunt: I like that!

Wow, that's upsetting. Midway through the article, I decided to subscribe there and then. The outro was quite the kick to the crotch. @Reginald: Thanks for what I am sure will be a great set of archives to dig through if this post is any

So this is very similar to eatlime.com. I love the idea (I use eatlime on a very regular basis). Unfortunately, eatlime is faster for me. I'll give you major points for a super clean interface.

I know Java enough to use Processing--which isn't a whole lot. My C is passable. To be honest, I didn't read a whole lot of it. I expected it to get harder that thought I'd ask around before I invested more time.

Emacs > TextMate > Vim, so only indirectly what you asked. With Emacs, I got the feeling that it's the kind of environment where time cultivates appreciation moreso than TM or Vim. I gave Emacs about 1.5 months, and stopped because
