I'm astonished that changing instrument approach procedures required only 50 hours and $11,000. I would have guessed an order of magnitude more than that.

I'm not that worried about this. It's pretty hard to kill an orca, and whoever decides to be a vigilante about this won't invest in some kind of custom orca-killing solution, they'll just use what they have on hand. And

I’ve never understood the desire to work from a coffee shop. The furniture is usually hard wood and uncomfortable, the table height is not set for working so you’re hunched over your laptop, you don’t control the thermostat so it’s usually

The headline is wrong. That's not what the article says at all. A more accurate summary is "Scotland has always had mosquitoes and no one paid much attention to them. We went looking for Scottish mosquitoes recently, and we found

This is a hugely misleading headline. They are withdrawing a 4-year-old vaccine in favor of later versions. Meanwhile, there are "concerns" over TTS risk, but the latter is a meaningless statement.

US airlines are trying to reduce their costs so they can offer lower fares, for which there is intense competition. You may have noticed that airlines are not a hugely profitable business, with profit margins of a few percent. US regulators

What's your point? There's no reason to have a generator that charges the pack in a hurry. It really only needs to cover the maximum sustained average draw - driving up an extended grade at high speed. That's a lot less than

It’s not about payment of the $250 in rental fees. It’s about them giving you possession of their $25,000 asset. And, “doesn’t have a credit card” is actually a pretty good proxy for either “not creditworthy” or “some kind of weirdo”, with

The fact that perjury might seem like a "good idea" to a criminal, or the only chance to stay out prison, doesn't mean it should be permitted. The purpose of the justice system should not be to give guilty people the best c

If you're innocent, you don't need to lie to your defense attorney. If you're guilty, the system is not designed to protect you, and there's no reason why it should permit the guilty to commit perjury out of some desire

“Lying to the court” is not necessary for an effective defense, and defendants are not obligated to testify in the first place. Remember that perjury is also a crime and you’re not “allowed” to commit perjury just because you’re testifying
