I think they would only be in trouble if they knowingly received stolen merchandise. It doesn't sound as if that was the case. They are obligated to release it to free to the police, as evidence. It does indeed sound like the police

In response to your edit I think what happened is that the police officer was notified of the stolen item by the pawn shop and before filing an official report they contacted the owner of the item and offered them the choice. If she opts to

I wish the author would have tried negotiating with the pawn shop. The pawn shop would have been out the entire 225 had she not bought the laptop back. Realizing this she could have offered a lot less and it would have still been in their

I never made the argument "that the crime would not have happened if Uber cars had undisableable GPS". You were the one that claimed that it "would only be useful as evidence to follow up on after an alleged crime took place

Knowing that there will be evidence to follow up on after a crime is committed is often enough to deter the crime from being committed.

You asked "will you have a problem with my name "Send to Dropbox"?" and they said yes. It does look, based on the rest of their response, that they were instead answering the unasked question "is it ok to use the

I would approach this from a different angle than the other commenters suggested so far and make a list of companies you might like to work for. Find out what stacks they're using and make your decision based on that.

I think you should also consider requiring a standardized form for the posts. For example, line 1 = Title, line 2 = city, line 3 = remote/no remote, ect... It would make searching through the posts easier and developers like myself co

It's only 70/month for the first year and then 80/month after that. Also, they only have 20% coverage of the city so for most of us we're still stuck with the usual slow speeds. And finally their customer service is ju

This seems like a decent website. Has the submitter been spamming it? Sorry. I'm just curious what you're asking them to stop.

This is really cool. The one feature request I have is that descriptions be added. The tags alone aren't enough to determine what an api is offering.

I've used Uber and Lyft but have not yet tried Sidecar. Based on your description, Sidecar sounds a lot better than hailing a taxi but a lot worse than Uber/Lyft. I would much rather give up the ability to pick my driver to have

Why do you think the barrier to entry is low? It seems extremely high to me. There's a massive network effect in play. I imagine competing with Uber at this point would cost millions of dollars per city.
