I don't care if you misspell a word, or make an error. But errors require extra time to process on the reader's part. Writing that's filled with spelling and grammar errors wastes the reader's time. I don't like having my time wasted, a

Criticizing "feminism" is pretty meaningless. Ask a dozen feminists what feminism is, and you'll get a dozen (+/- a few) answers. Yes, the idea that men and women are entirely equal except for social conditioning is ridiculous, but who says

That's the long-term goal, but to make that happen is pretty hard. One possibility is implementing some sort of XS for all Moose core features, and using XS to implement Moose-based classes (Mouse already does this). Another project which

This actually makes me want to work there. At past jobs I've often been frustrated by management's inability to let go of problem employees. If the team isn't gelling or someone just isn't contributing, changes need to happen. Note: someone

Huh, Moose is underused? There a lot of modules on CPAN using Moose, and a lot of modules extending Moose. Also, in what way is Moose unstable? Moose, and modules which use Moose, are used in production at a lot of places (if you use a re

I enjoy classical music of the modern period like Messiaen, Britten, and others. This is arguably more complicated than jazz. I don't really like most jazz. The performers are mostly amazing players, but the music doesn't provoke any emotio

The problem with this article, and those that assert the opposite, is that it's barely science. There's no good control, and there are so many possible confounding factors that it's impossible to know what's really happening. Even worse, if

Not exactly. I'm friends with the owners, and when they wanted a website, I handed them off to a designer friend of mine who I know does good work. I do host the website and keep the menu up to date for them, though.

I'm not sure you "got" it, based on the horrific flash nav menu, and the ridiculously small window all the info is displayed in (I have more than 300 or so vertical pixels!).

I'm sure _most_ Facebook users don't do this, but enough do to make for great hilarity in this particular case. This is all hilarious, but there's no reason to assume it's statistically significant.

Whether what the statement says is in accordance with the law is a subject for lawyers, but it's quite clear that the statement is not about copyright. However, it is written in a very weird way that attempts to imply that you can't do cert

His suggestion that storing datetimes in UTC may be a problem is only half-correct. If you have access to an accurate historical record of rules for a given zone, then you _can_ always store UTC. On Unixen, this data is typically stored som

Ah, you're right, he doesn't give them E. However, my point remains the same. He gives them C and D. The audience comes up with E, which is totally natural for a _major scale_! Then McFerrin gives them the A (with the big jump). At that poi

I was really impressed with this, and sent it to my wife, who pointed out that it's not all that impressive. If you watch, McFerrin gives the crowd 4 out of 5 pitches _first_. Assuming he starts on C, he gives them C-D-E, and then A. He als
