Thanks for this. Looks perfect for my needs. I've got to analyse a hideous generated CSV file with thousands of columns. I was planning to load it into SQLite3 but it has too many columns for import. I was also unpleasantly surprised t

Academia isn't flawless, it's no paradise. It's just humans and their factions, with all the good and bad that brings. > The authors are ... constrained by space due to paper limitations This is very real. Different journa

Gratifying to read the author say that creating something as mind-boggling this was tedious and frustrating. It's great, by the way :)

A Black Mirror episode considers a flip side of that coin: the threat of PTSD as a blackmail device. Granted, alongside some other far-fetched circumstances. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Men_Against_Fire

Well yes, but some Swiss taxes are applied at the point of sale e.g. trash bags, which are very expensive. It's not straightforward to compare salaries in these circumstances.

I'm finding it a bit hit and miss. I agree, the "shared myths" notion is very appealing. And I enjoy learning the facts that form the skeleton on which he pins his thinking. However, I can't help feeling that a professio

I kinda agree about JS CLI tools. However, I'm guessing the target market is JS-led front-end developers. Installing via npm makes it simpler to drop in to a toolchain that's already oriented around npm. Not saying that's rig

The "cow in the field" example reminds me of two heuristics I like: am I right for the wrong reason?; am I wrong for the right reason? Being right for the wrong reason is dangerous: it's not easy to spot, and it perpetuates f
