I think you're reading the room perfectly well. Or at least, reading the mood of plenty of people. We're only going to find ever-increasing numbers of animals that demonstrate various forms of cognisance. Hopefully we'll cont

What sort of internet do we want? One where every captcha is only useful to US companies, regardless of who has to pass it? Identify all the taxis: http://www.cookiesound.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/ri

Very nice. It looks like some sort of training to defend against bots that can currently pass hCaptcha..? If so, I wonder how long that particular arms race can last. I've not seen anything like this in the wild. And.... well, now I&#x

I just want to echo the advice: talk to someone, preferably a professional. You've been through the wringer. Best wishes from the other side of our planet.

At least one keepass implementation has the option to clear the clipboard after a few seconds. Haven't been at my Windows PC for months, can't remember details. No idea how that would work with clipboard managers, though.

For what it's worth, I've seen the same sort of interoperability issues with all similar software. Author A wants "the latest copy of the Endnote file" but nobody's using Endnote; Author B insists on emailing PDFs a

Just another user here, sharing some tips: Zotfile allows automatic renaming of attachments, which includes moving the PDF file to a different folder. This means my zotero account still has plenty of free storage, while the space-consuming

It does look a bit odd, but not that odd. (Caveat: I'm on mobile and lazy so I've not read the post, just looked at the linked graph.) The plot "points" are blobs rather than actual points, so there's likely some gr

All true. I learned about topic sentences only recently, I wish I'd heard of them years ago! I'll add something else I have realised: Your Gantt chart is not for you. I hate Gantt charts - they're out of date the second they&

I see it in reverse: the reason some news sites struggle to make money is their belief in a broken business model that's perpetuated by mega-corps like Google. The rules of the game are rigged; house always wins. The only way to win is

Unfortunately, this doesn't encourage the vaccine-hesitant or those who are persuaded by those they know vs those they don't. Quite the opposite.

Some publishers do indeed try to provide a plain-language summary where possible. See Cochrane reviews, for example this one: https://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD...

Good to see you iterating :) Brief feedback: pinch-zoom on mobile seems to be disabled. This makes the images difficult to see on my crappy-res phone, so I can't really understand much about the product.

"Of all people"? You seem surprised. I'm surprised you're surprised. His corporation has a track record of closing factories in the UK and moving manufacturing abroad, while actively avoiding tax. Of all people? Really?

As an infrequent Mac user, how is this stuff discoverable? The OS seems willfully obfuscated to cater for some notional lowest common denominator user. Whenever I find myself using someone else's Mac, they never know any keyboard short
