Look, your PC and BYODs are still prone to attacks, they're much much more powerful than those networked IoT devices, and they still need firewall to protect. I of course hope all firmware will be safe, and they should be safe as much

Something similar existed called FIPS-140, though it is hard to certify and not a good fit for IoT. IoT router/firewall might be one of the solution here, i.e. adding IoT pattern into existing routes/firewalls to protect IoT devic

This is pretty Android/iPhone-only, wish it can be more flexible to be used on other edge devices such as home routers or other embedded products where resource is constrained.

I am in the deficient range for years even though I walk under the sun a few times per week for about 15 minutes each time, that's still far from enough it seems. I will take supplements now.

I feel Rails is not as "popular" as it used to be, and Python is getting more mainstream due to ML and AI and Bigdata etc, similar to what Android helped Java. I would think Django is a safer bet, though, Python is not the best la

the thing amazed me is that the way they deal with the high traffic,in real time, for money transactions, not many companies can do that level of technical stack.

There are quite a few alternatives, microhttpd is a very popular one though in c++, moongoose / civetweb(forked version) are both good alternatives and are tested in the field and are written in C, you also have duda and libonion doing

RPI is an exception instead of norm. Other than that you got nothing, not just software, you got nothing on its chips either. I avoided Broadcom on all my designs as much as I can.

the RPI is an exception, it did not come easy. Freescale would love to open its GPU etc, however it is licensing the IP from other vendors that Freescale has no right to open source it, yes it would be nice if Freescale can get that part wo

true, Qualcomm was hostile to OSS, until it bought Atheros, and it kept Atheros open, so Qualcomm is only partially friendly to OSS.

Broadcom is awful for the open source world, it is worse than Oracle on the software side I think. TI/Freescale and to some extent Qualcomm are open to OSS. I hope this acquisition to fail.

I used LXC in the past, the current docker still puzzles me a bit. To save resource(cpu/memory,etc) and stay lightweight, the docker I pulled needs to reuse whatever on my host Linux to achieve that goal, otherwise it has to provide it
