Here's a reference/cheat sheet to using SSL with verification with Net::HTTP: https://github.com/augustl/net-http-cheat-sheet/blob/master/... It shows different ways of providing Net::HTTP with verification certificates.

I don't consider centralized services "thing x if it was invented today", if thing x can be distributed. The UI looks nice, and they did a great job. But anyone can host IRC servers, only convore can host convore.

We owe the people that made Rails 3 possible a big thanks for this. With the encoding issues sorted out, 1.9.2 has changed from a pain in the neck platform to a completely sane and viable platform. Which is probably the biggest reason why H

Of the distros I have used, only Ubuntu ships images that only boots on CDs. Debian, Arch, OpenSUSE all ship images that boot on "normal" storage (such as USB sticks, HDs, SSDs) and can be DD-ed to them.

I find insights on the inner workings of HTTP servers interesting. The comments about sendfile(2) provided great value for me. Score imo :)

How is that crazy? iOS is orders of magnitude more complicated than some JavaScript.

The title should really include "on Github". If you included GNU projects and BSD and so on, you'd get a lot more C, for example.

I wonder why the 13th note is wrong compared to the original melody.

I believe you're describing creating a branch with one commit that only contains a selection of the changes in the index. What are the commands to do that?

My comment was regarding physics in general, not a subset of math/geometry. Are you saying my comparison to the Zeno paradox is wrong?

This is similar to Zeno's paradox of Achilles and the tortoise: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zenos_paradoxes#Achilles_and_th... The paradox lies in "infinity" and "never". Achilles will overtake the tortoise when he's one atom away from t

I would just like to point out that Arch Linux with GNOME works just fine. I'm sure there are tons of other distros out there, too, that work just fine. If you don't like what's coming in Ubuntu, just switch. you probably won't notice much

Because from what I've seen, the Chrome devs appreciate concrete use cases. I've seen little of those, and many "plz fix it suxx!!!" posts, so I thought I'd contribute some, well, concrete use cases.

I don't understand how SSL can be secure. Aren't the keys for encrypting and decrypting transferred in the open before encryption can take place? If so, isn't a man-in-the-middle able to snoop those keys?

A shame the android market only offer paid apps in some countries. Only free apps here in Norway, for example.

I ordered a Nexus One to Norway a couple of weeks ago, and I had to use a proxy delivery service; Google only shipped to US addresses. So I think this is unchanged.
