So many kids (and adults) already have terrible anxiety when it comes to test taking - and now these companies think that the best way to handle cheating is to have computers monitoring them every moment of an exam? I am glad I am no longer

To elaborate a bit, there are planned to be at least 3 exascale computers running by the end of 2021, that I am aware of (1 in China and 2 in the US), with Frontier at ORNL estimated to provide about 3x the compute power of LUMI. It’s good

As far as Apple devices are concerned, biometric data never leaves the Secure Enclave, so risk of data leak is non-zero, but sufficiently low for everyday life. Compare that to the massive number of people who use password123 as their passw

Well, they can be 40 GB fp32 models technically, but translating a model trained in fp32 to fp16 is not trivial (trust me, we’re working on this right now for a model). But remember that training the model requires a lot more memory than ju

I have the MBP 16 from 2019 with the fixed keyboard, and both the hardware and software is solid. If you like macOS and are ok with the Apple premium, I’d say it’s the best laptop I’ve tried in the last 5 years (Just wish it didn’t have the

Slightly tangential, but has anyone had a chance to use PaddlePaddle? I played around with it for a little bit a few months ago, and found it to be generally a regression in use-ability when compared to Pytorch or Tensorflow V2. I’d be inte

Echoing the other comment, be careful. They probably make it extremely painful to end the subscription after the trial. It once took me well over an hour to end a trial subscription to the economist.
