People using private APIs know that they might cause instability (in their apps usually). That's why those APIs are private, they can change since there are no guarantees. I'd point fingers towards the electron core devs for this

Yea each time I’ve upgraded (been using elixir in production since 2017), it’s gone way smoother than I had anticipated. I usually find the Erlang/OTP upgrades to be a bit more problematic compatibility-wise. So I’m often in the latest

I wonder gang related violence gets more coverage only if it results in innocent victims. Deserved vs undeserved. Probably does.

I love bun. Been using it for over a year and haven't turned back. I wish Vercel supported it as a runtime. It's my default for whenever someone says "npx" whatever, unless it breaks (which it pretty much never does)

I love this idea, but then doesn’t it create a centralized target for hackers? I suppose that’s still better cuz then it also creates a centralized point and resources for securing the database.

You can create one with LegalZoom for very little money. It includes a one hour zoom session with an actual attorney to explain things. They make it so easy.

Whatever Anthropic is doing, it’s working amazingly well. And codex seems to be catching up. But gemini-cli today was really bad on an elixir edit. I’m not sure what causes it to be that bad.

I just tried it today and it made a comically bad edit to my elixir file. I’ve never experienced that with Claude. I used to use Gemini occasionally with cursor 6 months ago and it wasn’t this bad. So I’m not sure what exactly caused it to

I think if Atlassian could really build something like Vibe-Kanban right into JIRA, it would be absolutely incredible. Then we wouldn't need our Kanban board AND a separate board for just that. Or I guess if these tools integrated into

I couldn't figure out this part of GitButler. I downloaded it and tried it (since I respect Scott Chacon and remember learning so much about Git from his well-written git guides). But it was just a bit too much cognitive dissonance for

Came here to say exactly this. That all the naysayers are missing the tons of small wins that are happening every single day by people using AI to write code, that weren't possible before. I specified in a thread a few weeks ago that w

Yeah I think it would be better to just have the model write out playwright scripts than the way it's doing it right now (or at least first navigate manually and then based on that, write a playwright typescript script for future tests

Nah I think the more obvious thing is that most of the code they’re writing (by sheer volume) is the same stuff most programmers write (code that does telemetry, APIs, usage models, billing, product features, react widgets, etc etc.) stuff

I'm old enough to remember when pretty much every single social media company had really nice APIs so third party clients could be built. Oh man, a lot of the web really feels very enshittified these days.

Not responding was a perfectly good neutral action. Instead they chose to respond with a "LOL" and saying it was too long, like they're a pretty unintellectual person. Let's agree to disagree.

I agree with you. Even Anthropic's CEO said EXACTLY this. He said, if you actually look at the lifecycle of each model as its own business, then they are all very profitable. It's just that while we're making money from Model

All this is doing is aggregating RSS feeds and linking to the original articles. So this might result in lower traffic for "anyone involved in journalism" – but the constant doomscrolling is worse for society. So I think we can al

By that metric, every single software company is now an AI company. I can't think of a SINGLE company (except ours maybe, only because we haven't updated our website yet, not because we don't want to) that doesn't vomit
