Well, sort of... but mostly it's not 'setting up from scratch' and instead is a handful of generic configurations for Nginx, etc. How about repeatability? What happens when you need to set up a fresh dev environment again? Do

It's a balancing act of using the right toolset with regards to project complexity. Are your current bash scripts simple to maintain and scaling with the project? If so, perhaps it's best to leave them for now. If not, then consid

Wow, this is one of the ugliest new languages I've seen in a very long time. The author wonders why popularization is nowhere to be found... I think it's quite obvious just by skimming the first few pages of the tutorial.

Oh god, no. Apple should very much stay out of the SAAS business and stick with their hardware and OS expertise.

Here's a tip for anyone that feels the same way: Better Touch Tool. I used to HATE the touch bar, but after installing BTT and making a few customizations, the touch bar is now my friend. Oh, and the new 16" macbook with a slightl

You could always just embed your own twitter feed, depending on how much content you intend on posting.

Yes, Photos will de-dupe on import. Import everything and only the originals should remain in the library.

The author is a designer, and so I'm puzzled by the choice they've made to use faint header and typeface colors... the whole page looks washed-out, except for the images. Very strange.

I tried, but the article lost my interest after several typos and terrible usage of bold + italic, which makes it mostly unreadable.

With less than 500 votes so far, I'd hardly call this an adequate sample of the worldwide developer community.

+1 for mattkrea's comments. Sublime still wins, hands down, with it's ability to open many files, as well as large files, without slowing down.

Until Atom can open multiple large files without slowdown, or very large files without just crashing, I don't see it as being a threat to Sublime. They are definitely doing some great stuff with Atom for a free product; Sublime will ma

"Twitter Firehose for iPhone" is really a misnomer. There is no way that this is a true implementation of a realtime feed of the full Twitter data stream...

Agreed, especially due to the inane way that the site's designers decided to covert vertical scrolling to sideways scrolling.

Only $900? My partner and I are both under the age of 50 had to pay over $1200/mo this year for a personal plan with BCBS without ridiculous deductibles. This was an increase from ~$1100/mo from just 6 mos ago.

Agreed as well. Moved to an Asus ASPB287Q, and absolutely love it. Using SwitchResX I enabled HighDPI modem and it's stunning. It's like having a giant Retina display.

Interesting. I'll check it out, but unless I can get the same level of integration, super-fast file loads and searching, and parity with packages... I'm likely to not be a convert.

Every article I've read on this topic tends to say the same thing: Atom is a decent (but somewhat performance-hindered) text editor that borrows some, but not quite all, of the features and nice bits of Sublime. Given this, why would I
