I believe it has to do with phishing attempts by known tools (NSO’s Pegasus). If anyone has the resources to fend them off, fingerprint them, etc it is Apple, Microsoft and Google.

I believe the most common use cases are authentication, authorisation, rate limiting, smart routing, ssl termination, etc. The idea is to offload these things to the API gateway instead of the backend application. Once the request _hits_ th

I'd like to share the following: - "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari I believe it is a pretty common book amongst the HN crowd, no need to expand over it. - "The Tyranny of Merit: What's B

To my experience helm is great at some things but the fact that does too many things leads to engineers shooting their foot and then you have two problems: K8s and helm problems to solve ;-) The fact you add complex logic in the chart makes

Could it be the cuisine? I have yet to eat anything that tastes as it should in France. I know French cuisine is famous, but eating anything tasty in Paris without being a local is one hell of challenge.

Assumed innocence is one of the pillars of the justice estate and public relations. I believe it's a sign of civilisation. I know that in this case puts the whole thing in a bad light, but still as a principle assumed innocence is wort

The tech lead wants to be “a hero”. It’s a common theme, the problems are well known when you have ppl hero-balling.

Currencies are not adopted. Currencies are enforced. All the gov has to do is “accept taxes in eUSD with 5% cut compared to alternatives” for 10 years and the game is over. China banned eCoins overnight, it’s as simple as that, for better o

Regular Joe will use a crypto wallet managed by the US gov and won’t need a payments processor or a bank. All transactions will be managed centrally. Exactly the opposite of what Satoshi foresaw :o) Source: https://www.economist.

China and Taiwan are in Asia. Between the two of them there is at least as much if not more tech know-how (soft & hard) in many areas (e.g. face recognition, semiconductors) compared to all others continents combined.

You could combine CloudFlare workers and/or fly.io and YugaByte or CockroachDB psql-compatible DBs free tiers. Heroku, had a free tier as well. See https://free-for.dev/ for other possible combinations.

I have many Pis lying around as well. I have DNS servers, torrent servers and I also run a k3s cluster on RPi3s. It's okay-ish for these kind of projects. However as a desktop it is not. The Pi400 I am testing as a desktop generally do

Because the threat model is different than the one you have in mind. VPN providers for 5$ a month will give you multiple proxies throughout the world. Spinning up 70 droplets in different regions is not a viable cost effective solution.

DO doesn’t offer accounting in services (who accessed what and when), no IAM which is a huge problem and their APIs and services are a bit low on reliability. Spaces has extremely low rate limit and their communication API time outs often.

I have the G8. It's awesome indeed. Acts as a backup server for various devices (mac & windows), DLNA server, file sharing, etc. Additionally, I have a DLink DNS-320 NAS, which is pretty old but does the job.
