What do you want to be done to Thundebird? There are still security updates, aren't there? If they continue to update Thunderbird, maybe they make many changes that are controversial and a step backwards? e.g. here: http://web.archive.org/

Am I not the only FogBugz user who read his old articels advocating the use of bug trackers, and then read this recent piece which advertises Trello and thinks that he kind of sees or advertises Trello as an alternative to FogBugz? And that

The best use case for oneself would be if missing features are emulated with dummy data using some app-firewall tool. The phone should give any app no chance of finding out, whether e.g. address book access was granted, but instead show fak

It's not the first time he's inconsistent. One of his recent articles: http://www.joelonsoftware.com/items/2012/07/09.html also reads a little bit like bashing his own product FogBugz and advocating that it's a bit useless: "Do not allow

When Jonathan Blow complained about the release criteria that Microsoft wants for any Xbox game and Xbox Live Game I was truly impressed: He wrote somewhere that the game had to be runnable for 4 days, so even the tiniest memory leak would

Can I use it offline? My wife installed it a long time ago and never signed up for an account. Back then offline usage seemed to be possible. I copied her profile to her new laptop and it never required signing up which is great (why on ear

I'm really surprised that Intel seems to have done a good job and really uses RSA signatures and not some insecure design.

Yes, of course. But for Linux kernels, for every new release for the few maintained stable kernels, they always tell you it's better to update without giving specific details if there are vulnerabilities and who is affected. I personally do

I guess it wouldn't be too hard to gain root access once code runs on the server: There are plenty of local privilege attacks in the Linux Kernel and not everybody updates and reboots regularly

Do we actually need multitouch? For zooming webpages I always double tap to zoom in and have the Android browser rewrap the page. I figured that I actually don't need multitouch, except for maps. And with this, I could get rid of it and bac

I like that the article ends with the idea of killing Google Apps, because ad-revenue and defending it against Facebook could be more important. If they kill Google Docs, etc., will people move back from the cloud after loosing everything?

When have you stopped that and what happened to the existing customers? Did you ever announce that? I have noticed that FogBugz is now in very fine print in the version for your own servers, so it looks like you want to kill that off, soon.
