I was about to agree with everyone about this being a lazy question, but now I feel like an idiot because I never knew Amazon offered "AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM)" ( http://aws.amazon.com/iam/ ), which is a godsend. What's a sh

I'm surprised noone's pointed out the obvious - the US have obligations under stategic nuclear arms reduction treaties such as START I that compel the US to chop up B-52s, put the parts in the desert, and leave them there long enough to all

This seems to be a prevalent misunderstanding. Amazon's EC2 SLA of 99.95% applies at the scope of a region. A region may contain more than one availability zone. Hence, deploying on multiple availability zones still only affords the 99.9

If the Reddit web server admins took availability seriously they would have chosen to deploy across more than one region. Do you disagree? Why do you disagree? I'm being honest, no snark involved in my questions.

Amazon's EC2 SLA is extremely clear - a given region has an availability of 99.95%. If you're running a website and you haven't deployed across across more than one region then, by definition, your website will have 99.95% availailbility.

I take my comment back, I apologise. I've just realised that the Apple App Store does not clearly tell users what permissions a given application requires. Go to any application on the Android Market, e.g. https://market.android.com/detai

I can only speak for Android, but no you cannot deny the application access to certain aspects of the hardware. You must instead refuse to use the application as a whole. On the plus side, Android is very clear about what parts of your pho
