You may be ready for Forth [1] ;-). Strangely, the Wikipedia article apparently doesn't put forward that Forth allows access both to the parameter and the return stack, which is a major feature of the model. [1] https://en.w

A difference between Discord and Matrix(/IRC since it was brought up in the comment as well) is that there isn't a single client because they are open protocols. If a person doesn't see a usability problem, it might simply be

Or let people refill their bottles at the shop/mall like from a beer keg. But it probably would be a hassle to deal with for the seller, so it won't probably won't happen.

Just like there is "decision fatigue" [1] I believe there is "naming fatigue", and naming are one of the three great problems of computing, as everyone knows. I'd say that at least point-free prevents naming fatigue

I don't think anyone claims that. The claim that one hears more often is the AI "understands" what it talks about.

That was the thinking in the Forth community as well; no absolute frontier between language, library, OS and hardware. But Ingalls was still wrong, because what actually made that recipe work at that time is that they were programming again

Declarations , not definitions. Declarations go into object files as symbol names for the purpose of linking. You can have multiple declarations as long as they are the same (or if they are not they define different things in C++ due to ov

Sorry about that, I usually try to refrain from making negative comments on HN. I was sort of mislead by your comment in the thread that you did not make this (didn't get the joke), and thought that the author was unlikely to read that

This [] pair for quotations is pretty common in "modern" concatenative languages. But you actually don't need them that much, at least in Forth. It is not a solution because they have misidentified the problem (due to lack of

I've wondered for a long time why the dot was chosen for this instead of the question mark. Using the dot instead of the the semicolon to end definitions seems more natural (as far as "natural" makes sense in an RPN language)
