Must be cloud day - my local paragliding club has just been discussing this HG flight soaring the Burketown "Morning Glory": http://news.ninemsn.com.au/glance/869276/surfing-with-a-tsun... For those more generally interested in clouds, "T

Actually what you've just described is an expensive programmer, albeit not overly expensive. Great programmers tend to value other things such as working with other great programmers and a stimulating problem domain. The money tends to be a

There are a few great Java and C# programmers, quite a number who are good and a great majority who are mediocre or bad. In my experience, those who hack scala/clojure/lisp/ocaml/f#/haskell/lua etc. in their spare time trend towards the gre

This specific website? Or just a degree delivered online? In general, the only thing a CS degree tells me is that you had the fortitude to complete a CS degree, and perhaps (it's not a given) you might be able to practically apply some of w

The only wrong, I think, in this case is that the tech at Rimuhosting did not respect Aaron's specific wish to not allow him to access his box. Do you think this is more or less wrong than simply halting the instance?

If my VPS was on the same host I'd pretty much demand they do exactly that. Actually I'd probably demand they stop the instance, so I reckon he got a free kick if they only stopped the offending service.

Interesting. It's after 9pm here, the staff have long since fled, but a quick look around reveals Mr. $47m, Mr. $14m and Mr. $8m are still beavering away and Mr. $150m+ is still answering email (albeit tersely). I've never yet met someone w
