I didn't downvote you. But you should be aware that Firefox is still a substantial platform and it's market-share isn't shrinking very rapidly.

On the plus side, this move will push more people to replace Flash with other technologies and I may never have to use it again. It's been consistently the buggiest piece of software on my computer for years. I won't be sad to see it go.

Neat, but not quite the same thing as Slime. Slime also, provides hinting and autocompletion based on the running Lisp image, debugging restarts, namespace resolution and other features. This seems more general though, and clearly has the b

Not to put too fine a point on it but, forthrightness always makes one vulnerable. I'd say that's part of the reason it's valuable and part of the reason people are sometimes afraid to be so. When you openly (and kindly) share your grievanc

You know, I didn't get that vibe. I felt that the author brought up a lot of legitimate complaints about EmacsWiki. Having used EmacsWiki, I agree with a lot of them, especially the stuff about the advice on the wiki usually being very date

You either need to get a bigger database or better search. I typed in "The Who" and got Modest Mouse. Not quite what I was looking for.

To be fair, it rule one of persuasive writing to put your thesis at the beginning of your argument and follow with your supporting arguments. As it is, you're changing your entire argument in the second to last sentence.

At any given moment there's probably a vanishingly small number of HN news readers who are unfamiliar with who 37Signals are. So I suspect that for them, gaining the front page on HN is less profitable than gaining traction in nearly any ot

If you click on the icons they give you more detail as the the nature of each crime. Most of the ski-masks seem to be "STRONGARM ROB." which implies a mugging to my mind. The gun symbol means weapon, and most of them seem to be knives.
