Sure, but what fight are we talking about? We can't vote and we have zero influence. The general sentiment on immigration is negative and has been negative since the recession of 2008. The US Congress can't even pass a budget, goo

Thanks for listing it out. It's a shame that people in this dilemma tend towards hyperbole, even going to the extent of calling it slavery. There are hurdles no doubt, but life is unfair. Deal with it.

Parsing/indexing on Ubuntu 14.04 with an NFS mounted drive with a mix of C++, js and python is really slow. https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode/issues/5282 I'm really hoping they look into this. I m

This is why you need a counter balance to monopolistic tendencies of the free market. Be it in the form of regulations or making companies liable for their greedy actions. It has been proven time and time again that systematically removing

I guess it depends on what you want. I think it's fair to say that most work places outside of SV have less innovation (with some exceptions of course). I'm saying this as someone who moved from Texas to SV. For me personally, the

Ok, fair enough. How do you define a tech hub? Is it R&D or is it operations (maintenance/sustaining, DevOps, tech support, biz dev)? If it's R&D, clearly Austin is no tech hub. Only a handful of semiconductor companies an

As someone who's lived in Austin (left in Sep 2012 to the Bay area and still have friends there) I chuckle when people say Austin is a tech hub. Sure there are satellite tech offices and a growing startup scene, but it is nowhere close
