Why wouldn't you? It's faster, it'll eventually have more support from the community, and has tons of improvements which should help with your productivity.

I think now would be an excellent time to jump into 3.0. So much has changed since 2.x, practically every Rails developer, new and old, will be blogging, tweeting, debugging and asking and answering questions on StackOverflow about Rails 3,

My money's on a Nano/Shuffle hybrid. The small form factor of the Shuffle with a tiny touch screen (~1.25") and ultra-simple UI @ ~$79.

The joys of being a new driver. :) (and in fact, it's only £3k if I pay it in a lump sum, it's nearer to £3.5k if I want to pay monthly!)

I started a Canvas based game framework of sorts a while back: http://github.com/ashleyw/Game.JS …super original name, I know! You do all the drawing yourself, it doesn't add another layer as such to that, it just helps with scheduling ba

Oh, thanks! That's weird though. When I submitted it at first, it did show a submission to the same URL, but from ~160 days ago with only 2 upvotes (hence the ? at the end.)

My constant pruning of spammers leaves me with rather depressing follower stats: http://i.imgur.com/r3tRN.png The same goes for who I follow. I only follow 57 people as of writing, but 99% of them are people I'm truly interested in. I try

With the 512MB Slice, you're paying around $18/mo more than the lowest end Linode for very similar features. What exactly do you get for that $18?

It's using Canvas, so yes it's HTML5. And even though it's using Javascript, I've always considered that to be the tool you use to communicate with the HTML API. The same goes for CSS to some extent, too. Anyway, the average joe needs a buz

I've never understood peoples concerns over this — the whole point of social news that it doesn't matter who submits it, people will just upvote what they like, so I see no problem what so ever with it.

Stop worrying about a perfect launch — your success isn't measured on the splash you make. Launch now, gain feedback, and then build out the rest of the product.

1. Draw some ideas out on paper, and work out the minimal viable feature set. For some people this is just a buzz word, but I'm a firm believer in it. 2. Use Balsamiq mockups to neatly replicate what I've drawn and mak

We've always been able to give our email as @gmail.com (I have), but any email we send comes from @googlemail.com, which is obviously always a headache for support tickets and such. I'm glad they've finally got this dispute sorted out.

BTW, what would the £1650 be for ? As Peter's already mentioned, the early 2006 MBPs can only support 2GB max, so the £1650 would be for a new MBP (or actually, maybe an iMac.)

Really, does it make that much difference? I've been thinking about getting an SSD for my 2006 MBP, but wasn't sure if it'd be fully utilised. Though, I still need an upgrade, the 2GB RAM limit is getting pretty annoying now. If only I had
