iOS: docs are so good you'll find yourself reading way past what you actually need, just for fun. They're great. APIs generally well thought out. Examples current. Xcode's sometimes frustrating, but not that bad. Worst part

Going back and forth between Android's SDK and docs and Apple's for iOS is like alternating between navigating a labyrinth with a floor of hot coals and, somewhere, the howls of wolves, and relaxing in a nice warm bath with a glas

My experience has been that it almost always has that meaning, unless the context is 1) a sports coach talking to players, or 2) HN and related startup culture. I'm not sure why startup people latched so strongly onto a word that'

So did I, but outside the context of sports it still mostly means scamming people and/or generally earning money illegally to me. Or maybe a dance. I don't think I ever saw/heard it used in its startup culture sense until I w

You can't. About a year ago I went looking for a big collection of at least the most popular ones, if not all of them, ready to drop $20 or so and fully expecting it to be available. They're not, so now I just have flying toasters

Well, the way to stop it would be to outlaw it. More difficult and niche/low-visibility issues have been fought and won, over time. Not impossible, though not easy, and you'd be up against a maybe-unprecedented number of lobbying

Any data hoarding and/or selling of this kind by anyone—credit card companies, loyalty cards, ISPs, Google, Amazon, creepy phone-wifi location spying in stores, anyone and anything like this—is de facto spying for the government. A
