Shame, really. I love distributed P2P applications built around dumb, simple techniques or tools. Super complex abstractions are useful but as a project creator it's difficult to rely on new technology if you can't support it your

What does that matter to the conversation, though? My point was merely that compensation is merely a variable. As with any variables different companies will value different things. In your example the company has almost no concern for comp

Indeed, I'll have to work to soften my tone next time. Appreciated! And here I thought I was doing well by not just using the LSP acronym lol.

Oh it entirely does. But I think you're confusing the source for "good". As the GP said, supply and demand, you're competing with a lot more developers when you work remote. I think we'd all agree there, right? So n

Sure, but is what I asked not valid? I asked some questions, and said I was confused by their statement. If anything, I acknowledged this, which is why I wrote "Language Server Protocol" and not just the acronym LSP that they had

I'm confused on what you're asking, isn't that exactly what the Language Server Protocol is? You can use RustAnalyzer as an LSP for Rust & Vim, I use RustAnalyzer also as the LSP for Rust & Kakoune.

It would be interesting to attempt to automate various metrics for how well a politician has done for the voters. Unfortunately there's so many layers of abstraction it seems difficult to quantify.

While I agree with you, I think you underestimate the number of features that help Rust be great in the face of a Lifetimes and Generics. One feature tends to lead to another. For example, Traits with Associated Types are amazing, but they

To simplify even more, you don't actually need `Display` or `Error` impls. I use Error enums frequently without display or Error impls. Though, with better backtrace support coming it'll be handy to have Error and the Backtrace

Can anyone security minded comment on how this tool compares to the Scuttlebutt Secure Handshake[1]? Notably I've been looking at various modern "safe and easy" crypto tools and found Scuttlebutts handshake interesting. Yet,

I hate this. The implication that companies should have any moral behavior here just enables immoral behavior. There is no dick move here. The only reason you call it that is because we have a society (America) built to give almost no s

Well, if we take a step back from React and talk about a sort of data-first approach to UIs, I think they are definitely, much easier than the old jQuery era. Mutable state, notably knowing all possible variations of said mutable state an

It bothers me that they even tried, honestly. Keybase seems like something that should be small, isolated, FOSS, supported by a foundation, etc. They could have built a business _around_ Keybase I'd imagine, but all they managed to do
