True but it only has no side effects if it's well defined. The compiler can assume it's well defined but only if it's executed.

If print statement never completes then it is a well defined program. Because there will be no division by zero.

They have ARN's which include the account which a glob match is useful. Something like "arn:aws:*:*:1234567890:*" is useful but "arn:aws:*:*:1234567*:*" isn't

People who don't directly own land will pay rent in one form or another that will go to a landlord that does pay rent. Also ask a different question if he doesn't benefit from any of the land in the US why is he still there?

Typically there's much less tax involved when investing in real estate. Here (Australia) there's both no tax on the imputed rent or price appreciation if it's your own home.

NOTIFY/LISTEN isn't a queue it has broadcast semantics. Postgres queueing is really just the SELECT FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED, the NOTIFY/LISTEN allows you to reduce the latency a bit but not essential.

You are going to have the same scaling issues with your datastore. I don't really understand why you say that your dequeue queries will throttle each others locks and grind it to a half? Isn't that the whole point of SKIP LOCKED?

SVB didn't fail because people pulled money, it failed because of a lack of risk management. Complaining about those pulling money out is silly. If anything they should have pulled it out much earlier.
