A 4x4 matrix can represent a position and a rotation, where the 3x3 matrix (called the transform) is the rotation and the 4th row (calls the transpose) is the location in space. The neat thing is that when you multiply matrices together you

I agree that most people just use REST as a buzzword today but don't really know what it is. As I remember REST was popularized by Rails a few years back. If you go back and look at the railsconf talk by Hansson in 2006 you can see th

That's why you should be passing input params by reference and not as a pointer. The compiler should be be used to check that inputs are valid references so you don't have to null check everything.

I think I've realized over the years that this kind of development process lends itself to certain kinds of software. In particular XP is effective for web server products. Not all software can or should be deployed rapidly like this.

Major issues I have with angular: 1. Doesn't play well with jquery. Digest cycles and event passing don't mix. With any significant jquery plugin you end up with $timeout(0) hacks (with or without the jquery being wrapped in a di

I sort of agree with the go authors that there is not idiomatic way to deal with dependency management at all. (see: https://golang.org/doc/faq#get_version ) They all have their ups/downs and mostly it has to do w

Just my opinion here, but this is terrible advice. I agree with the author that JQuery's existence was predicated on the fact that it wrapped terrible browser APIs, and that in the (more) modern world we no longer need these wrappers.

Generics are a nice feature to avoid code duplication. However, they are not required to be used in every application. Whatever the solution is, it should not affect code that doesn't require the use of generics. If the entire langua

jquery and angular do not play nicely not matter what the angular people say. Any non-trivial jquery plugin included into a angularjs page will require $timeout(0) hacks to get it to behave properly.
