Maybe I'm lost here but why is this a good thing? and what this is providing for the consumer. I am not harmed by Google price fixing (as far as I know) because I pay them exactly $0, nor do I want to see the days of the 90's agai

Interesting article, however I have a different take on it. Agile/XP was originally envisioned to reduce the impact of middle management/business processes on software development and put the customer and developer together to get

There is no need to write to a cookie in server-to-server auth, just pass an auth token back in a custom header. No JWT required. Cookies are for offline users.

ergo: if it's ok to have an un-revocable insecure session - use JWT tokens.

Going to throw out my 2 cents here: 1. I don't like multiple makefiles. Icky with lots of duplication and high maintenance. Bad article. 2. When possible I use target expansion to generate targets in the main makefile: APPS:= app1 app2

This post reminded me of an old article: https://blog.codinghorror.com/vampires-programmers-versus-we... The big win for 'containers' is that they separate the concerns of sysadmins from developers. The days of th

Regardless of the quality of this post, the author does highlight a security issue here. The RFC states that it's up to the parser to define the limits and different parsers may behave differently in the face of malicious inputs. That&

I wonder if there is an interesting lesson learned here for future language maintainers. One of the reasons for the 14 year deprecation windows (imho) is that the language maintainers didn't have control over much of the core platform

This all started with angular imho. There was a time when structure, layout and logic were more cleanly separated. Angular blew this up with <ng-xxx> tags (which was a step backwards towards PHP imho) and this has been driven forward

It's all about market segmentation. If you price your software at $0, you'll end up with a large user-base (in theory). You can then start pay-services like consulting/support. Eventually you can add new product lines based
