The issue is that you are sleeping the computer vs hibernating it. Sleep is still powering the ram. Hibernate writes the ram contents out to a file and shuts the computer off. It often takes some tinkering to get hibernation to work, if at

I miss those days. Though they went too far with the skeuomorphic design, it is a far cry better than what we have today.

No, gotta put your credit card info into the wallet app before use as it needs to verify it's your account. Also, Apple Pay doesn't accept all cards. My main card isn't accepted, which is sad.

I wish I knew how that floating window thing worked, cause like you I can manage to open it when I don't want it and can't get it to go away. I keep meaning to look for a good iPad tutorial, to see how to do all this stuff.

My concern is sticker shock. You mention "a generous free tier" yet I don't see any talk on the web page for the free tier nor what all I'm getting for $100 a year. If I had to decide between this and a subscription to A

Yeah, I re-read the whole thing again, and I see the mistake I made. I took a wrong turn when op went into base 37 numbers, which made me consider every bit carry not just the carry on word boundary.

I see what I was doing wrong, I was considering total bit carries during the addition, ie... 1+1= 10 and is a one bit carry, and not the carry operation done after overflowing the word boundary. Next time, I'll keep from reading tech a

edit: Ignore this, I'm tired and dumb. You aren't gaining performance by reducing carries, you are gaining performance by running these additions in parallel. The ALU is doing the addition in binary. Even though you add padding to
