My first thought is that it might be hard to prevent decay and leaks into the structures supporting these spongy surfaces. 80cm of water logged soil above a parking garage, for example.

I think it's a joke. I doubt that the instruction is exclusively verbal; they must have seen "AJAX" somewhere along the line before whiteboarding Web applications. They're just having fun.

I had a revelation while playing the Sims, and this code lays it bare. I found I was spending more time managing these values for my Sim than I was for myself. I have not enjoyed most single player games since.

It's nice to see that, until this comment, CTRL-F yields nothing for "ponzi" or "scam." "pyramid scheme" and "drugs" are still making appearances, though.

This is a stretch, but could you be thinking of PICO-8? It's a "fantasy console" that you can write 32k game cartridges for using a subset of Lua: https://www.lexaloffle.com/pico-8.php

That's a common question right now. So is, "should I sell my BTC in case it fails, and assume I will still have BCH?" The market might help you make that decision when the exchanges open BCH withdrawals and deposits.

I was hoping that this was the work of a brilliant artist. But reading the comments suggests it's the work of an automated workflow that optimizes for Amazon's search algorithm. Maybe it's still art.

What is up with the background music for app demo videos these days? These cute, jaunty, almost childlike melodies all seem the same to me and I'm trying to think of where I first heard the trend. Was it Apple in the late 00s?

Exactly. I started skimming the article like I do most these days, scrolling to the punch line while collecting the gist. When I got to the part about the ball being a knock-off, I was struck with excitement because I knew I wanted to read

Thank you, but my comment wasn't about the study. My comment was a direct response to the parent's opinion about what is considered moderate drinking. An alcoholic would have a much more liberal judgment.

I think they're saying "diets" don't work. It's true. Take all the diet attempts and divide by successes. Even counting calories fails if you don't count them.
