I find the Waking Up app the closest to this. Others like headspace feel heavily commercialised, with an aim of improving “productivity”. If anyone is looking for guided meditation, I suggest checking out waking up.

I got the same impression at first. Then I saw the drawing tools and I thought that’s a lot to ask from end users. Messaging is confusing for sure.

I created a list comparing the prices for various LLMs against GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 Turbo. If you're building some projects with LLMs, you can use this list to choose the best model for your budget. I was surprised to see Claude 3 Haiku w

Yeah I had a similar experience where I got builds frozen for a couple days, such that I was not able to release any updates. When I emailed their support, I got an auto-response asking me to post in the forum. Pretty much all hosts are exp

I have tried this after seeing it recommended in various forums, it doesn't work. It says things like: "I appreciate your sentiment, but as an AI developed by OpenAI, I don't have the capability to accept payments or incenti

It's incredibly lazy. I've tried to coax it into returning the full code and it will claim to follow the instructions while regurgitating the same output you complained about. GPT-4 was great, GPT-4 Turbo first version was pretty

Yeah, faced the scaling challenges. What was recommended was using the "methods" which was basically RPC to fetch the data, rather than using the PubSub data syncing. Meteor maintained a full copy of what data each client had in m

Reminds me of Meteorjs. It would let you sync a subset of your data to the client and then the client could query it any which way it wanted. They called this “Minimongo”.

I have the perception that HN is quite ruthless with the feedback. I appreciate constructive criticism, and HN is mostly constructive and self moderates against non-constructive criticisms, but for me, HN is the platform that gives me the h

I'd built a bot to use ChatGPT from Telegram (this was before the ChatGPT API), and currently building a tool to help make writing easier ( https://www.penpersona.com ). This is the API. Apart from that, it's pretty much

Do preferred shareholders still get their liquidation preference in a bankruptcy? I don’t think they should, they are usually the ones responsible for the bankruptcy. Common shareholders are going to be the employees in this case with ESOPs

You might like Kagi in that case. I've not really used them, but they have a lot of customisation options and they charge for their product.

Btw there are Chromium based browsers on Android that have allowed extensions for a long time. I do not recall the names as I’ve been on iOS for years now but I know they exist. EDIT: It’s kiwi and yandex browser apparently.

This is how PWAs work on smartphones. I recall coming across some electron alternatives that use the system webview and those are able to generate binaries hundreds of kilobytes in size. But you lose out on access to many of the modern APIs

It also seems to be doing something weird with text selection, at least on mobile browsers. But I guess the promise of flutter is it’s the same everywhere so this demo should be equally bad on desktop.

Not to mention unsearchable, poor discovery, a chat platform is not a replacement for message boards. SO is well suited to the Q&A format and Discord just isn’t.
