Very curious as well to see comparisons between Claude Code, Codex, Pi, Grok, OpenCode, Crush, etc Personally jumping around a lot to get a feeling for exactly that, and these days liking the Grok harness out of all of them the most

I mean the consumer Gemini app. It has no way to connect MCP servers to it. Only Spark can, if you switch your Gemini to the separate Spark mode

Even if really great, it still can’t use tools. The only consumer Google thing with access to MCP tools is Gemini Spark and that has lots of other problems. I wish they would combine their efforts on a great consumer product but it’s Google

I also started using Mise for global CLI tools instead of brew and it’s working really well Eg: mise use -g gcloud instead of brew install xxx It can even do that for npm packages! Like mise use -g npm:xxx

I have a pass with Gemini 3.8 low over every PR Claude makes that specifically flags this. It points out all the slop comments, docs, commit messages. Doing this has greatly improved my comment and commit text quality Funny thing is, Claude

More because Spark is not good. Gemini Flash 3.8 is an awesome model! I use it all the time Spark asks you for every single tool call, often forgets earlier parts of the conversation, is unable to use apps unless you explicitly tag them and

I used IntelliScript a lot. I give Claude a subtitle export, ask it to cut it and import the cut subtitle track with IntelliScript. Resolve then creates a video version that’s cut based on the subtitle changes Works pretty well!

SuperGrok quota is garbage for anything coding. I burn through my quota in a few hours with very mild use. SuperGrok Plus is slightly better but doesn’t last me more than a few days. Even Claude Max feels leagues more generous in usage… I h

I do the same with Gemini. I have a skill that teaches any AI to use the antigravity cli (agy) to communicate with Gemini and ask to review or check decisions

Grok 4.5 was the first time I considered giving me $100/mo to xai (currently on just SuperGrok). It’s just a very pleasant model to work with: fast, to the point, intelligent. It’s also much better in UI compared to gpt. Not as good as

Perplexity can use “some” tools (mostly built-in) but custom connectors were from my experience not available in voice. I usually do a very simple test and tell it to verbatim tell me all tools that are connected

What I’m missing from this announcement is the capability to use connectors and tools. I don’t really get it - NONE of the frontier assistants can use tools / connectors while in voice mode - Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok. It seems so

Also spent the past day using Fable for everything I usually use Opus or gpt-5.5 for. My experience is that it’s a better and more reliable Opus that’s far better in frontend tasks than backend/ios. More similar to gpt-5.5 for long run

He’s talking about “gpt-5.5-pro”. This model is not part of the subscription plans in codex. It’s a different model than gpt-5.5-xhigh You can use Pro on the web if you’re on the Pro plan but not in Codex

As much as I like Gemini CLI and don’t like them shutting it down, I think it’s good some of the offerings are getting unified. There was too much fragmentation in the google offering and this is making it a tiny bit better.
