Why does this sentiment always get downvoted? (Not just here on HN, but on other forums and in the real world as well) Edit: to those downvoting me (classic), when I left this comment the parent was at -2 or -3 votes and at the bottom of

Am I the only one bothered that they didn't include the space between the "OS" and the "X"? More importantly, this is huge, but as a Linux developer/user I still have no desire to use .NET on my platform. Maybe

I haven't looked at the MIT course in detail, but doesn't it seem like Concepts would be more similar to this than 251?

As a member of the team that "won" that hackathon, I agree. Interestingly, one of my least-favorite parts about "doing well" at hackathons like these is that I don't get the opportunity to go around to other tables

Wow, that's crazy! I've always wondered if something like that would be feasible... had no idea it had actually been done on a grand-scale before. Thanks for that.

See my comment to the other reply. Ordinarily I'd agree, but these were all graduated undergrad math majors in a course about how to teach math (specifically prime numbers) to high schoolers.

From what my professor told me, they were almost exclusively in their mid-20s, having just finished undergrad degrees in math. You're right — knowing if 1 is prime is kind of a trivial point, but this was a course for would-be math tea
