Great idea. I'd be happy to get a discount for my leanness, low RHR (resting heart rate) and daily step counts.

Tailwind looks bad on "paper". It violates a lot of "best practices". It is ugly. Yet in reality it works. It gets the job done. It is fast to work with. Constraints are known to enhance creativity.

For me the value of Garmin (Forerunner) is their proprietary algorithm for calculating Stress Level from HRV. It is the basis for the Body Battery measure. I find it useful to see how food and activity affects my stress levels. I guess it w

Compare the fuel pump of a Jumbojet and of a car. Is the smaller one a micro-pump? No, they are both pumps. Any "micro service" is just a service. Ref: Juval Löwy

Pros: Effect has explicit errors, and dependency management that gives an awesome DX. I also like the two-way Schemas. Cons: The API surface is huge so there is a steep learning curve.

I work even if I have a cold. Luckily I never had symptoms of flue. I was down with Epstein-Barr/mononucleosis for 12-14 days in 2004, and then I stayed home (home from PhD studies).

I'm Norwegian. I have not taken a single day of sick leave (M51). I believe that if I get sick, it is my fault and responsibility, and I should not burden the employer or public sector with that. In 2009 i fell off a bike and hurt a kn

I got codex to count my total heartbeats from my Garmin data. For four random days the counts were 72.252, 73.823, 68.922, 70.991. According to google: "typical range for total heartbeats is 86,400 to 115,200 beats per day" I run

A silly question (from a non-HW guy). Why are digital bathroom scales so coarse? Some have a weight resolution of +/- 500 grams. Would a better microcontroller make a weight faster or more presise? I guess this TI micro controller is o

Good idea with the Zapper. It works for pages with an URL, but when opening a new tab there is no webpage to "zap", just the Google Doodle. My solution now: Switch to other search engine (Brave/DuckDuckGo)
