We have humans that save billions of US dollars, so this overkill behavior is not exclusive to squirrels.

I agree at the yearly scale, but after 13 years it starts to make sense.

That's a funny story, but the real problem here is that you didn't change your password in 13 years.

This isn't ironic, I've actually done that multiple times in a large company. No one noticed, everyone went home happy.

The most famous example being Alyssa Carson [1]. These frauds exist for a reason, there's an huge (and legitimate) demand for covering women in space. I guess Peggy Whitson isn't sexy enough be on cover of magasines, so journalist

Thanks for the detailed answer! It's already there. The piratebay already serves me movies at 200 MBps with almost zero infrastructure cost. It's probably more a licensing issue like you said.

Slightly unrelated, but did they ever consider P2P? It scales really well and saves Terabytes of bandwidth, so I wonder what the cons are, except that's it's associated with illegal distribution.

I mean a blacklist system like Twitter's, where you block a website forever. Pinterest would be the first to go.

I wouldn't compare Blablacar with Uber. Most drivers use the service once a month to cover fuel cost and meet people during occasional trips.

The reveal trailer is so dishonest, it shows environment-mapping AR features, while the glasses don't even have a display. Please calm down the creative department.

Pardon the biological analogy, but diversity has 2 main benefits : resistance to epidemics (malware) and faster evolution (innovation). I don't want to converge towards a single OS, but welcome standards and bridges between them.

The Juicero comparison doesn't hold up. LIDAR is 10x more expensive than RGB, but neither reach lvl5 at the moment. I'm glad multiple companies try multiple paths, it's the best way to avoid a research dead-end.

It's darwinian, founders are selected over product success. New CEOs are selected for their finance skills. The first tend to be creative and empathetic, while the latter prefer cost cutting and lack of empathy.

Fake supercentenarians have been used by multiple governments in the past to glorify their lifestyle. USSR did the same, claiming that Shirali Muslimov reached 168. China also has fake "longevity villages" that draw some tourism.

I fell bad for all the awesome indie devs out there now that the market is saturated. I remember the early days of Steam and Android when low quality asset flips would make $10k easily. New niches appear every year though, like the VR mark

I agree, it'd be fairer to compare wattage at peak load. Notebookcheck indicates 40W for AMD and 30W for M1, so I guess the perf/watt is closer between the 2 chips.
