Netflix never put all their content out on the internet to be accessed anonymously for free. It's almost as if the news media created this expectation in their industry.

I keep hearing this. Every time the NYT writes an article on X, while being a hypocrite on X, "Do you think the guy who wrote this was also in charge of X at the NYT?" It's a valid counterpoint. The guy who wrote about X is n

As marginal utility goes, though, it sounds like “spending more money” in this story includes things like “having more than one room to live in.” And, admittedly this was an inference rather than baldly stated, “nice vacations.” Money doesn

It’s not a broken system. It’s a limitation of the current state of human knowledge. Perfect information about X without the state of knowledge to interpret that information prompts flawed action. You are not living at the end of time, at t

I don’t know about rich, but: I use NotePlan on my phone for WYSIWYM notes and calendar entries, with GTD support. It used the same (Dropbox) directory as my Kiwi app, which is a personal wiki with WYSIWYM. On my desktop I have Sublime text

Who else’s first embedded advert in the article about online prostitution was a picture of a beautiful woman with the tagline, “Here for every beauty. Shop now.”? Top notch work, there, Yahoo Marketing.

Do we have no way of handling people being complete ass-hats without involving the legal system? I agree that this guy's behavior is repugnant, but criminal? This feels less like a judicial ruling than a Penal Downvote.

I once did an FOIA request and found I was being monitored by the NYPD for being a regular donor to the NYCLU. Law /enforcement/ isn’t always bad, but mass surveillance of the general populace is.
