I'm interested in this too. I just moved to Utrecht and WFH / sitting in cafés isn't the most inspiring environment.

Ah it might be that I didn’t try long enough! It does appear the instructions are randomized, so I might have been unlucky.

I like this concept! Although it doesn’t accurately reflect how I normally use my phone. Maybe monitoring someone using e.g. some social media app and recording all taps and swipes might make it more realistic :) Maybe also some directions

Haha, that’s a good point. I think the main change from using these (reasoning) models is that I’m more cognizant of my thinking process, rather than there being a novel technique.

I use this method too for programming problems I would normally procrastinate on and offload to subconscious thinking. Actually writing out all thinking steps helps with ironing out some wrong steps in my reasoning or going in circles due t

I have the M3 Max, and a custom built pc using some Ryzen chip that has roughly equivalent benchmark scores to the M3 Max. The amount of cooling and power required for such a PC versus the aluminum slab with small fans that almost never tur

My experience has been that in a healthy working environment, it’s clear who contributed what (I do make sure to communicate clearly what I achieve towards the team and above), and lifting the entire team up does not jeopardize one’s own po

When I started out programming in C#, I used reflection sometimes to circumvent the language’s design and restrictions. This resulted in brittle and hard to reason about code. Reflection should never be used to do this. So I do think you’re

I do the same thing. C++’s feature is incredibly broad, and sprinkling in just a bit too much templating can result in code that is cleaner, but harder to reason about when reading it back after a month. For example, using C++ 20 ranges ove

This reads like nothing more than an advertisement of Clion’s refactoring features. Some of the tips are even quite dangerous and highly context dependent, like creating a base class when two classes share common functionality. That sounds

Building a VR IFC viewer in C++ without external dependencies. I just implemented a parser for IFC, and am now looking into extracting BRep and CSG geometry from it, convert that to meshes, and write a simple renderer for Vulkan. My approac

To me it appeared more like he was aware of a limitation in the new rendering logic he was working on in the backend, and that he knew a simple (high level) workaround. Still impressive work :)

So would the user be able to specify what furniture to be placed in the different rooms in the floor plan? And how do you source the 3d models? e.g. if I want to have specific IKEA furniture? I’m wondering because I once spent some time wri

And props for launching! Going from 80% launch-able to 100% is not an easy task, especially when balancing other work. There’s so many small things that add up, even things like privacy policies or ToS’es.

The video tour seems to be AI generated as well. What is the reasoning behind using that over a path traced / light-baking approach? Also, how does it compare to other floor planner apps and relatively more advanced products like Sketc

I would argue that creativity is a tendency and fundamental property of an individual’s brain, rather than a skill that can be taught or learned. Creativity does require a context, such as creating a piece of art, music or solving a problem

There’s also SDF (Signed Distance Fields) modeling, such as present in multiple modeling tools like Adobe Substance 3D Modeler [0] or WOMP [1]. I suppose this is similar to voxels in that the data is stored in a uniform grid, but the way it

The type of visually dense user interface is still around where it’s unavoidable due to the complexity of the data model, e.g. DAWs, game engines and photo editing software. But for simple consumer facing apps or websites, I don’t see it ma

I think DrMiaow is referring to how the APIs and SDK could become more “open” over time in the sense that more functionality is exposed to developers. One example is that right now Apple makes a distinction between Immersive (AR, digital ob
