My experience has been that in a healthy working environment, it’s clear who contributed what (I do make sure to communicate clearly what I achieve towards the team and above), and lifting the entire team up does not jeopardize one’s own position in that team. Maybe the key here is a good work / team culture? I can also imagine some places or contexts in which the work might be more invisible / harder to attribute to specific individuals.
