The world is not a place where events can be sandboxed to one instance like this. Luis von Ahn did digitize the entire archive of NYT before flipping reCAPTCHA to Google, and I'm sure it's still helping. But because he did that,

Yes, that is true. However, the fact that only my cloudflare domains experience this suggests either, 1. They are targeting domains specifically with cloudflare nameservers. 2. They are somehow obtaining a list of domains running on cloudfl

This is tangential, but is there any way one can use Cloudflare and not be subject to Google Analytics spam?

History repeats itself, but not during consecutive events and not always. I think natural way social networking would go forward is that there will be a lack of interest in general purpose social networking. These will be eventually replace

Wells, in general, are a public health nightmare in India. Most of India, except a few states, has heavy quantities of fluoride in the soil. Ground water is not portable and drinkable because of this. India has suffered numerous episodes of

When I visited one of these in Agra last Fall, I assumed it to be either a bath or an aquarium to keep exotic animals. Some had so many tiny windows and grills, I thought they might be designed to use as laundry places. It's interestin

Or, you realize that your processes are so minimalistic and well structured due to lack of options, that you only have to write a custom request router over the weekend to migrate. Also, Lambda-like options are available with most PaaS prov

I absolutely hate that this comment is downvoted. This works, costs as much as a regular hard cover to setup -- $27, as someone pointed out. As the author pointed out - parental controls prevent any access or misuse. Hell, you can just not

That's not my point really. My point is that the number of investments one would need seriously get returns is not equal to number of vacations one takes in a year. It's like saying it costs as much as a movie ticket to buy a lott

But doing cache in this way sort of defeats the argument. Why would one cache a gzip copy instead of minified or minified+gipped? And minified alone is more efficient than gzip and can work regardless of client preference. The argument here

There are bunch of things you miss: 1. Gzip is not free. You would have to perform it on every single request. That costs money. Minification is a one time thing. 2. Gzip does not strip documentation. 3. Gzip, as you mentioned, cannot do la

Tools like this become increasingly useless as your codebase gets larger. For example, unminify React and try mapping functions to unminified code. There is a lot to minification, these tools just undo cosmetic minification.

I disagreed with the article mentioned by Stephen too. Computer Science is not about learning to code, it is a degree in problem solving. It teaches one how to think about problems. In that, it's almost liberal arts. It's a scienc
