These icons are obviously designed for mobile apps, and they look fine on app icons. But they are plain awful on the pinned tabs. I'm not sure if only a small percentage of GSuite customers were using web apps for them to justify this.

So I ventured into indie music production during lockdown and here's the thing -- covers are a notoriously vague area when it comes to copyright and licensing. It is easy and cheap ($10-15) to get a cover license. You are required to g

This micro version of clique-only Facebook events is not bad. If someone builds a usable version of this that will eat into a significant portion of WhatsApp groups. I believe if your app can just record my video, then transcribe my audio t

Pay for Facebook then. 1.5% of total YouTube users subscribe for YT Premium. I love how the smartest minds will ignore the most primitive economics. Ads work. For everyone. Except deluded.

I grew up in Lucknow, India (a tier 2 city with around 3MM people at the time) and had multiple assistants think I meant Lucknow, Ontario — a town with population of a 1000 people.

This should not be a mystery at all. India locked down entire country (no state rights in Epidemics laws), despite federal structure. Very few things can be bought, even Amazon is only delivering "essentials." But more importantly

This company is facing trouble worldwide because of their likely involvement with Chinese spying. I don’t think this will find any takers among people who are privacy conscious.

Honestly, with the new Pro laptops having so much issues, my next Mac setup will be an iMac with an Air. After using the 2018 model, I have a different level of respect for my 2015. So much double typing on 2018, who designed that keyboard?

I have a 2015 with screengate issue. Basically the anti glare peeling off with regular use. Solved by removing the whole coating with Clorex cause can’t give in the laptop for 5 days. Dangers of living on the edge.

This is true. I bought the X in India but with assumption that I’ll use it for at least 3 years. Maybe more. This doesn’t sound hard to achieve given how long Apple continues to provide upgrades.

I'm not sure how much user security will come out of the new Gmail policies. A lot of companies will just start asking for username/password for IMAP access. Now the user is more vulnerable than if the developer was allowed OAuth

Because coworking spaces are full of employees of other companies, while working cafes are usually solo people working in super focussed fashion. There's no foosball table. No startup kool-aid. It's the same with private members c

I dislike coworking spaces. For a solo developer, they offer a lot of distraction. You're stuck in one place which defeats the purpose of getting out of the house for inspiration. For a team, it becomes very hard to create company cult

It is absurd that two (not one) doctor's scripts are needed to buy a sugar testing device. I've been trying to get this for my mother but it has been an awful experience in terms of their willingness to sell. I wish a company that

If you're in the US, you can just walk into a bank of your choice and open a account. Stripe doesn't care what you do with your SVB account. Just replace it with your new account number in Stripe payment settings and you're d

This would be beneficial for companies who have not yet figured out the math like you have. Also for companies who have 5-6X spikes in a non predictable fashion. Also, even for predictable spikes, there is a non-trivial lag for autoscaling.

It's not reasonable at all. You're 1 instance of bad luck away from death. But that's hardly a reason to not leave home.

Different markets and products. Pleo is not in US yet. Pleo does not underwrite. Pleo requires balance in account for cards to work, hence it is a prepaid solution. Brex actually underwrites and works like usual corporate cards do.

For personal mail, Zoho is hard to beat. Free up to 5GB and $36/year for up to 30GB. They also communicate very well about any downtimes, disruption, which is extremely rare. Also, there is real customer support. I've accidentally

Very primitive. Does not work with most high frequency n-grams, and I tried a bunch from the top 5K. "Best hacker fare website" does not highlight "fares" in titles, "hacker fare" is not detected as a phase, so

Two things: 1. There's really no space for it, if you look at teardowns. So something took its place. 2. It does give better water resistance. Google the water resistance tests between iPhones and others. The difference is night and

It’s a colonial era law that made LGBT “unnatural” in the country of Kamasutra. One of the many gifts the British left behind. Great we finally overcame it. Although we should have fixed it sooner.

This is quiet meaningless, almost an Onion article. Nobody serves a 449ml wine pour. Just because the glasses have gone larger, does not mean the serving size has too. The photo that says it was probably 14 servings back in the day, the gla

This has nothing to do with centralisation. Every (even decentralised) shops need to comply with local laws. You can debate the laws, but not the compliance of shops. It's the same reason you can't just buy weed from 7-Eleven. If
