A minor note about marketing — it took me a while to find the link to the app in the post. I was about to give up but ended up finding it just before so I got to the App Store. I’d suggest adding a “get on App Store” link somewhere prominen

This data is for all new apps released and has nothing to do with our user base. In fact, we don't have an SDK. The report uses data from our SDK identification engine, which works for all apps.

That’s definitely a large contributor, but if you look at the number of new app releases you’ll see it went down quite a lot when compared to previous years. That’s the other side of the equation for the decrease.

We (Appfigures) looked at the SDKs that apps use to determine what's native vs. non-native. This method will catch "partially" non-native apps as well as fully non-native apps as the former will need to have the non-native SD

Looks like an interesting service, but... 1. Testing isn’t always as easy as following a list of steps, and when it _is_ those get to be technical. Explaining those as text instructions could get harder than what most expect if they are to

To have an ad network control so much of web traffic and then decide which ads to block is just absurd. If the chrome team and google’s ad teams were not controlled by the same unit that primarily makes money from ads it would have been ok,

I use Apple notes as well for its simple UI and limited options (which I find a plus). I jot a lot of notes though, and still prefer revising on pen and paper so I wrote an Apple script that prints all notes in a given date range and I then

This is a beautiful way of looking at the X from a very zoomed out perspective. To an extent, I agree with much of what’s said and felt the same way when starting to use my X. But, and this is the important but here, we’re existing users. I

Unfortunately raising money isn’t a proxy for profitability. In many cases it’s the opposite. It could be seen as a proxy for potential, but potential alone doesn’t pay the bills. This fee feels a lot like the fee a merchant would be charge

Do apps really sell themselves? Not really. Plus, with so many apps, the real challenge is getting visibility. In that sense, I think search ads could offer a ton of potential, but don’t think it’s running correctly now/yet.

I don’t think we can hold Apple responsible for 3rd parties like Flurry. Those companies will always find a way to do what they do because there is incredible value in having access to such data (as a developer).

Its definitely fast, but... is it actually going to be effective for the cost? Probably not in the long term. Having used this “one click” setup on Twitter and Facebook before I know these campaigns are increasingly ineffective. That said,

We do a lot of technical interviews and have seen enough candidates skip on many of these, so in that respect I like that there is a list they can reference. However, doing for the sake of following a list can come off as inexperienced/

Yes, but you’d be surprised how many candidates either get too nervous or are too shy to do most of these. Phone interviews are hard to begin with but you also have a lot of flexibility so it’s less stressful, but in-person interviews with

I (founder) actually love hearing these types of questions because they convey actual interest. However, by no means am I saying ask for the sake of asking because I’ll read through that and will probably try to turn it into a conversation

As a founder who sits in on all interviews I agree, but also believe that every question/answer is an opportunity to show more personality — on either side — and as such welcome it.

I’m glad Twitter is changing things up. Technically this means doubling everything (database, cache, etc) which I imagine was an undertaking. But... Is this really what’s preventing Twitter from growing? I don’t think so. I use twitter for

Throwing my two cents here - as an employer who also happens to be technical I don’t like working with recruiters for the simple reason that most of them aren’t qualified to asses the kind of talent I’m looking for most times. They are good
