I'm learning Lua. No idea what I would use it for, especially given JavaScript's striking similarities. Probably the most interesting app I've found is Luvit, a descendant of Node. Libuv and http-parser are C, so it's

What a headline. iPods got a lot of praise for including Wolfson DACs. The hardware was better than most and they sounded better. The ES9018 in this might indeed sound great, too. Wouldn't it be nice for this to catch on? A chance

Why not level 7? By 38 the player could be fixing bugged waypoints, profiling out bad O(n!) code, resetting time to get a specific time-based drop, tweaking character attributes to make puzzles/quests easier, etc. The savefile just bec

You are right: it is a valid metric. It's the quality of the language that counts, but it's the popularity that matters.

I use Amazon. I found Zinc here yesterday. I rolled the dice, ordered ~$100. My CC gives 5% cashback on amazon, 1% normally. The Zinc advantage over the 4% difference was slim, but I'd rather someone else use my points than me. In fa

Popularity is probably the worst metric for a programming language. Programmers conflate popular for good pretty often. They line up often, but they are orthogonal. The original question is loaded. Why not ask "What usually incre

Yeah, you're right. The syscall does ask for a size_t. It now looks correct. The whole length-after-the-string part is edited out, and the value is indeed placed as immediate (as the syscall wants). Now the binary ends with "hello

It's the HWLENADDR you're talking about? It's placed as the last byte in (not in: after) the string. Down in the final product the edx part ends up BA B1 80 04 08 (0x080480B1). It's a pointer to that '14' store
