Glad to see the evolution of the bio slide. I never think those are useful when they look like Linkedin pages.

It's hard not to love Marco. He's a one man band that manages to keep up a killer product, maintain an active presence in the community and he's innovated on Instapaper in a good way. I use it every day.

I didn't say they were innovative, just that they don't suck. Different people have different FB needs, but for me, I just want to scroll through my news feed, comment on stuff and get out. It works fine for that. n=1.

Certainly well written, but my experience with journalists (hiring them and firing them and learning a ton from every one of them) is that sometimes the bookish, quiet types do the best investigative stuff. All the same, great little piece

It's overblown until we get the 2010 data for the tri-county Metro Detroit area. In 2000 that pop was 3.9M. If it rose in the last 10 years I would be very surprised. BTW I am a former Oakland County resident.

I'd rather have paywalls than advertising. Still bummed out that TipJoy (YC08) never made it.

Stuff like this makes me feel ill. The notion that the domain was used as property to commit the crime is absurd. He was linking, not manufacturing/producing/etc.

At some point, hopefully not too far away, retargeting will be considered a sin.

I have been wincing looking at new logos for as long as I knew what a logo was and I've come up with two reasons why it's always so painful: - the old logos were usually hand drawn and done by a very small creative team. More often than not

Most computers, which generally run on pirated Microsoft software, come from China. The country’s only computer-manufacturing company, Morning Panda, produces barely 10,000 a year. If computers are rare, printers are even more so. They are

This is exactly right. It all depends on identifying the right audience. Longer copy is great for people who are prospects for the product; for people who aren't it just looks like a messy sales page.

It's really hard to get a 1st time conf off the ground, even if you are Jason Calacanis. I like the effort that Launch is putting into getting people involved and offering deals like this. They are being very active and it will pay off.
