Ah, a jacquesm reply, I feel honored :) Of course you're right, the Victron are good, and they're proven. They're incredible flexible and for hackers like us they're amazing units. But for me the Deye was 2500€ shipped (

Don't get me wrong, the Victron systems are nice & I envy their great traits I've praised in sibling comments. But your system doesn't compare on the power specs. There is no exact equivalent for the Deye with Victron. Th

For those thinking about replicating this: Victron is really popular because it's extendable and the management interface is reasonably open, but the zoo of required devices makes the costs explode quickly. Maybe look at Deye instead.

When the ad says "Linux support" I expected well tested hardware. It's not 2001 anymore, the era of GPU switcheroo is also mostly over (at least for this kind of laptop), and we're beyond wrapping NDIS drivers into the K

The problematic scaling is really a huge pain point. And it is not even recent, since HiDPI screens are on the market for a long time now. Both for desktops and on laptops. tl;dr: I gave up on a 27" 4k (163dpi) screen because working w

Careful with the Dell, it's not sunshine and rainbows there either. Got the XPS 13 9310 in the Dev Edition (that is, with Ubuntu pre-loaded). I'm using that machine for Pentesting, so I went with Arch (+ Black Arch). Anyway, I alr

I'm wondering how difficult it is to clean the signal once the relevant noise portion can be extracted, and then introduce a fake noise to manipulate the date? I'd wager it's not too difficult to produce something that can fo

Even if the police can not do a lot about it, the report will end up in some statistic. That statistic in turn might lead to more resources assigned to the issue, either directly (crack downs, recovery squads, whatever) or indirectly (progr

Orville, imho: The first season tries hard with some poor jokes (what you seem to be afraid of), but already has some very TNG worthy material and great ideas. It improves from there, and now it's occasionally funny but in a more matur

I loved this, since this resonates with my own experience. If the problem space is small enough, just test against a known good (but slower) implementation. With custom algorithms this can also be very interesting for the person writing the

The question is in which case(s) `f(x) = x^n mod m` is a bijection for `0 <= x < m`. My intuition is to guess that `gcd(n,m) = 1` is at least a sufficient condition (correct math term? In german it's "hinreichende Bedingung&
