I suspect at some point in the next 5-15 years we will begin to see AI generated entertainment perfectly tailored to a person's preferences.

I believe the individual you responded to is stating that from a moral perspective it's murder, not from a legal perspective. I would agree with them as well.

I say this having never driven a Tesla, but are they really suitable rental cars? My understanding is that Tesla vehicles differ quite a bit from regular ICE vehicles, to the point that there's a bit of a learning curve to operating th

I'm kicking myself for not going for a job there in the past! I know/knew quite a few people who work for Verafin, and I've heard it's a great place to work. This is fantastic news for Verafin, and, like you said, will h

I only used Chrome Remote Desktop for the first time two weeks ago. I was blown away how easy it was the setup and how well it worked.

SMS Backup+? I totally agree, I wish I could opt out as well. Having my text messages and phone call log backed up to Gmail with this app has come in handy so many times since I started using it in 2012.

I don't have an Alexa myself, I'm a Google Home user. One thing that's always impressed me is the ability of Alexa to order things from Amazon just by issuing voice commands. Although, I'm sure that comes with its own ho

In your experience do they drive differently than any other car on the road? If a vehicle around you was powered by Waymo with no markings stating as much would you know (ignoring the fact of an empty driver's seat)?

Please don't post if you don't have anything to add, or a valid question to ask. If you feel like posting memes Reddit is a better medium for that.

As with all Apple products, I'm sure Apple will iterate on this and keep making a better product until it can rival Google Home and Amazon Echo. It seems quite often that Apple first generation of new products (huge exception for the o

Really? I've looked for something like this in the past for my driveway, but come up empty handed. Are you able to share any of the product names with me? I would love to have something like this.

No kidding! I recently picked up lock picking as a hobby, and it really makes me realize just how insecure most locks really are. I'm a total beginner and I'm able to pick some locks in seconds.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I was very confused for a moment after reading that comment. Never seen the acronym "SF" used for science fiction before.

I'm not the parent poster, but I believe the parent was referencing the fact that Opera now uses the same rendering engine as Chrome/Chromium. I haven't used Opera since they changed rendering engines, so I can't comment

Where is that? Where I live there is a 100km/h limit, and the local police sometimes post on social media when they ticket someone going 160km/h+. That said, 100km/h made sense in 1970, but now with the safety of modern cars,

Could it have been an issue with the deign of the battery itself, so the failure would happen regardless of who manufactured the battery?

Is it Google's responsibility to? I would say no. If algorithms detect that an individual is going to a bar every Monday and Thursday night, and then starts providing information about said bar on Monday and Thursday nights I don'

Taken in the context of the article, I believe they're talking about how the chiller room will be used to develop batteries that are more efficient at lower temperatures.

I've been following the progress of that project over the past few months, and it's amazing to see what they've achieved in such a short time-span, given the difficulty of the task. Personally the emulator is of no use to me,

Very impressive. I remember being a young teenager when Google first went public, and around the same time my parents were looking at investing a moderate amount of money (around 10K, if I remember correctly) in the stock market. I suggeste

I agree with you, but will it ever happen? I would imagine that Google benefits from capturing the audio, so they really have no incentive to allow you to use their voice recognition without them getting the audio.

If enough people had these in their homes then there would no longer be "peak hours" or "non-peak hours", I would think that this would normalize the grid so that pricing is always fairly consistent.

Serious question: Did you read the article, or did you just watch the video? Reading the article along with watching the video made it perfectly clear to me what this product is doing, despite the fluff in the video.
