Slightly tangential, but does this mean that Wine prefixes will no longer need to include Internet Explorer? If you ever go digging through a Wine prefix's Program Files, there are a handful of default Windows applications, including I

I found this website a few years ago and became infatuated with it. It's such a simple technique (in theory, I imagine creating this would be a headache) but it's possible of such powerful results. Not only is there simple animati

I love fantasy consoles like Pico-8 and Tic-80 (and all the various others). I haven't done too much with TIC-80 as I ironically find the less restrictive restraints compared to Pico-8 harder for me to work with. It's almost easie

This is fantastic. I've made a Game Boy emulator in the past, and I'm a big fan of Pico-8, so maybe I'll give this a try myself as a learning project. I wasn't aware this was really feasible.

My frustration with managing different Python versions is what motivated me to finally go out and learn Docker, after running into scenarios where I needed to manage different versions of Python with different versions of each library.

If anyone is curious, I wrote a guide on Chip-8 emulation in Rust, and the final step was building the emulator to work in a browser via WASM. I do use a Cargo package to assist with targets and compilation, but other than that it allows yo

I made some emulators in Rust as a learning project during the start of the pandemic, and ran into the exact same issue when I wanted to make a wasm version to run in a browser. Eventually, I was able to figure out how to do it, although I

Piggybacking off of this, does anyone know of any PS4 apps that can stream Jellyfin content? I have a TV in the spare bedroom with a PS4 attached, but it's not really worth my time to go get some other dedicated device just for Jellyfi

Which bridging software do you use for some of these? I looked into doing something similar, but all of the ones I saw (at least for Discord) require manually duplicating each Discord channel in Matrix, and it looked to be a bit of a hassle

I have written a few bots using the discord.py library, and while I appreciate the hard work the developers have put in, and I can appreciate wanting to leave the scene, this puts a bad taste in my mouth. I and many others relied on this li

Pico-8 has an artificial CPU limit; once you surpass 100% utilization the system cuts the framerate in half until CPU usage dips back down under the imposed cap.

If you're on Linux you will need three things - a copy of the FFVI ROM file (it's left up to the reader to find a copy); a patching program that supports IPS patches, which almost all general web or desktop patchers will; and a SN

I went down a rabbit hole trying to determine the most officially re-released game. While FFVI does have quite a few, I think the consensus was it's either Doom, Street Fighter II, or Sonic the Hedgehog.

I'm a big Chrono Trigger fan but I haven't tried any mods. Are there any others that are recommended? I know there are some that function more as sequels, but I don't know how good they are.

The Framework has a 200 DPI screen. It's lower than say a MacBook, but I wouldn't consider that to be "low-res", especially in the laptop space.

I was rather confused by this until I saw the 2011 date. Things have changed quite a bit, it doesn't appear at all on this chart, but the US now consumes 3.0 quadrillion Btu from wind energy in 2021, more than any other renewable.[0] [
