As others (and Microsoft) mentioned, it was read only access. The only points of concern here would be if that statement somehow was not true and they were able to add undetected changes, or if their security audit process was severely lac

Strangely enough, my 2018 Samsung TV honors my LAN's DNS preference (set to an internal IP for pihole). It breaks app and system updates, but that's an okay price to pay :)

My 2014 Jetta used the ABS system like this, and it blew my mind after having dealt with failed Nissan TPMS sensors all the time.

Yep, happens to me too. Almost always if I need a bit more sleep but the sun is already up. I don't have these in-between dreaming/awake dreams if it's the middle of the night and still dark.

VW is seemingly, in my experience, an outlier. Their small displacement turbocharged engines will run fine on 87, but really like 91 (or E-15 88). My '14 Jetta with the 1.8T got better power and fuel economy on "the good stuff.&

This is an oddly specific hardline stance to have. When you have 85 octane available at 7,000 ft and your car is engineered to run with 87 at sea level, you'll be fine.

Yep - my little two bay, pre-built NAS has a Celeron in it. I suspect this is the market they're targeting.

Ah, the HN hug. Poor site. I have a lot of optimism for this phone. I don't know whether to buy one of these, or wait for the "GA" version to come out. I'm most interested in running Plasma Mobile but being able to &q

This is timely! I have a QNAP TS-251 (two drive bay model) that has been collecting dust for roughly two and a half years. Somebody was able to install a ransomware program on it, I suspect using the QSnatch[1] vulnerability. I triple pas

The hilly geography (and poor advanced planning) means you don't have room for your lane to continue ahead of you. It's an intensely short merge that would be dangerous to allow people to fly out into, given you don't have ti

This has sorta been my experience with a lot of Apache projects recently. The differences between them are becoming quite nuanced. I'm trying to piece together the main reason why someone would pick this over Camel, or vice-versa. I

The P series is such a workhorse. If I had purchasing power over my hardware at work, I'd crank one of those up and replace my workstation+laptop with it.

I'm in a similar-ish boat. I've got an i5-6600k with a solid overclock on it. Single core performance is completely modern competitive, but it falls very flat in multicore. Most games will get a huge bump just with a new GPU - Yo
